Blog2022 ≫ Bonus day in London

Generous use of the word "bonus" there, it was in no way a treat, it was just a non-usual day in London. Usually I try and do only Thursday, but this week Clare had Wednesday off so it worked out better. Very busy day, though a nice wrap for lunch. Think I have found the best place, in a shop on Leather Lane. Best avoid the stalls I think as they seem to fix prices, everyone wants £8 now for a wrap, bit much. At home lunch would be more or less free, or at max £3 if I have to go and buy it.

Bit of excitement in the morning, and slightly tense all day. Got the beetle in the last free parking space at Folkestone West and realised I was a bit close to the car behind. Completely boxed him in, and while there wasn't a lot of space I could move forward a few centimetres. Put the key in and it would not turn over. I had to leave it and get my train. Now thinking 1) when the person I'd boxed in came back, would they try and shunt me out of the way? 2) even if they don't, if the car won't start, what am I going to do?

As it turned out it was fine when I got back, the car behind was still boxed in, but the beetle drove just fine.

Home now and we're watching Shrek II. Not my choice. Clare is working nights for the next four days, which messes up our good TV. We can't watch Bake Off Extra Slice without her, nor the new series of Ghosts on Friday.

Thing two's guitar club went well by all accounts.
