Blog2022 ≫ Covid finally caught us

We're both feeling like crap, but the boys are ok. Clare was not well as soon as we'd got back from holiday, but took a covid test and it was negative. She still had a couple of days off work still. Her first day back at wor was Thursday, is it still going-back-to-work-itis? She went in, but actually came home sick, which never happens, so knew it was serious. That same day I was in London and started to crash about 4pm, a bit of a cough, feeling rough. When I got in I fell asleep in the chair. She took a test and is positive. I knew I was ill so told work I'm off sick, but I did not take a test until later in the day, but now I am confirmed too.

I struggled to sleep, Clare too, and I sweated so much in the night, I am proper feverish. Woken up with a very sore throat today too is that a symptom?

We're supposed to be at Harry Potter World today, but luckily could postpone the (actually quite expensive) tickets. I spent yesterday sitting in my IKEA recliner listening to the vinyls on my birthday gramaphone. Impressive how even the albums from the 1960s are sounding on it. I finally repaired my Plantronics headphones too, with the same superglue I bought on holiday to repair my glasses. This is great because a) good headphones permanently connected to the gramaphone for easier listening without having to unpair the others from my phone, and b) I have never reused a glue before, it always dries out before I get the chance. I will be buying a device to connect the gramaphone to the speakers after next pay day, which would also make it easier, but it's nice for me to sit and listen while the boys are playing xbox.

I had a feverish dream about some work I needed to do on this website, tagging certain posts with todo or habitat radius or my other things and including some of the content automatically. But I can't quite remember it now.

Also not drinking of course so far this month, that will contribute to the not sleeping and feverish dreams. I am not definitely keeping this up all month, just not drinking in the house. Looking forward to seeing my friends again when I am better.

I was at another Suede fan club gig twenty years ago today in 2002.
