Blog2022 ≫ So much to unpack (2)

Here's an example, like I mentioned before of "much to unpack", there's a lot going on in this picture from our last day (yeah starting to explain the holiday backwards) that explains little details of our holiday;

Picture of our holiday table, with drinks and playing cards, and in theory a view of Mount Vesuvius in the background

  1. Pasaõ spritz! We had a lot of spritz drinks, including Aperol Spritz and much Limoncello Spritz (AKA Sorrento Spritz). It's three measures of some liquer (not sure what in this case, I guess passõ1, two of prosecco, and one of sparkling water. Variations on this are the drink of the holiday.
  2. Espresso, but served here with sparkling water, crazy. Thing one started drinking espressos on this holiday, they both like them.
  3. Glasses - there is a thing in my group of friends that started with taking a picture of a cocktail / drink, adorned by a pair of sunglasses. I have no sunglasses, so put my reading glasses in each shot. I broke not one but two pairs of glasses on this holiday. Luckily they were only cheap.
  4. Corfu playing cards. We played a lot of cards, but we were not in Corfu, these were from our previous holiday and we took them with us. We were playing sevens here. Nice to be playing a normal card game and not Top Trumps.
  5. Wedding in the background, they were Scottish, and all in kilts. We saw several weddings in Sorrento.
  6. Vesuvius further in the background. You can't tell but we have a lovely view from this cafe bar, across the bay of Naples to the surrounding islands and so on.

Anyway just a sampler from the holiday, all the details to come.

This afternoon we walked to the White Hart in Hythe, and got the bus back. Then I went to the Inn Doors, it was open on a Sunday for a change as it's their seventh birthday, and also a bank holiday. They were very pleased with my gift of a bottle of limoncello to display behind the bar, and also some little biscuits to share out that look like cat poo.

Now to catch up on Stranger Things, Only Murders In The Building, and Better Call Saul.

Tomorrow we have to go to Maidstone uniform shopping, as thing one has outgrown his school clothes while we were away.

Estimated 500 cups of coffee from my barista pro1 probably comes to £2.05 a cup (including actual coffee and now servicing1 so not the 'leccy).
