So we seem to survived the hottest day ever. At least so far. It's cooling down slightly at just past eight now. I'm just taking a walk along the beach with the boys1. I've had such a busy day at work, and I couldn't really notice what the weather was like outside, but it seems to have gone over 30° around here and hit something like 38 In other parts of the country. Tomorrow is supposed to even hotter. This was thing one's last day of school, his last day of being a year eight, but thing two has to go into school for another half day tomorrow. I think it's been quite a relaxed day for both of them apart from the heat. They've just been doing fun activities today, not any real schooling.
Just seen some madman running past me. Not so many runners out in this weather. I'm certainly not going out today or tomorrow, but loads and loads of people on the beach, loads of people in the water still. Probably not - definitely not - as many as there were yesterday, so shouldn't be quite so many casualties.
I left the boys playing in the sandy bit of the beach while I went for a bit of a walk up and down. I wanted them to come with me and walk to Sandgate and back. It was too hot to go out earlier to get any exercise. So I thought I'd get my exercise now but they are not keen at all so left them playing there. I'm glad to see they're still there now I'm back. I didn't go very far, but still you always wonder. Some real nice cars parked around here. Some land rovers range rovers and a very nice one with an unusual badge saying Westfield. Looks like a hand built sports car or kit car or something. This is a nice place. People with money like coming to this neighbourhood, that's got to be a good sign, hasn't it?
