Blog2022 ≫ The beetle limped to and from the station

Actually it was fine, the tyre is just very soft. I have borrowed Jim's plug in tyre pump and pressure monitor to fix it.

London was also fine, station very busy on the way in, I got the last free parking space even though I was there at five to seven. Then train in not that busy, I got a table to myself. Work pretty busy, good lunch from Leather Lane, a different take on salad in a wrap today, marinated tofu "steaks" with chilli and ginger and coriander and things, very nice. That was £7.50 though, then £2.50 for a coffee, plus the £70 or so for my train fare, it's not cheap going to London. Did not get away as early as I should have too because of a late last minute meeting that overran.

Clare working a late today, so the boys went to Jim's. He dropped them home at nearly seven and then I gave them their tea.

Last day of not drinking. That was a very doable month, though I did miss my trips to the pubs. No-one missed me it seems, I only had two invitations out all month that I had to turn down. Hope it picks up again in July. Birthday month. I wonder if I should get Clare something?

No energy bonus energy graph today, sorry, though I did have a theory. Maybe the energy monitor here is sharing out the standing charge for each utility throughout the day. This might explain why there is a charge for gas when I get up in the morning though we cannot have used any yet.

Estimated 382 cups of coffee from my espresso machine1 probably comes to £2.49 a cup (including actual coffee and now servicing1 but not the electricity).
