Blog2022 ≫ Hot day in London

Went to London for work, and it was hot and busy. Train very busy both ways. Clare was working from home today, so she was around to do the school runs, so I headed into work early. This means I could get the free parking on the other side of the station, and come home early. Felt a surprisingly productive day for a day in the office. Was very hot all day, though the office was air-con chilly. I resisted the urge to buy coffee and go to the pub after work, with it being the last week before pay day and not drinking.

I was going to say I don't know where the money's gone this month, but I do know really. Bills, blinds, thing one birthday, mouse man, sofar, and car were the biggest, and I did buy some shares which have plummeted in price. Basically this month I lost the money I invested. Also service charge was a noticeable one this month, but I actual put something into a separate pot monthly for that so it doesn't really count. Still have not heard back about the massive fee for rebuilding a wall. Totally got my head in the sand about that one.

I have more things coming out of my pay now before I even see it, which are good really, quite a lot into the pension and then a share save that is going to be a lovely surprise in a few years time.

Twenty-five years ago today was the legendary David Devant album launch gig at Dingwalls, Camden for the Work Lovelife, Miscellaneous1. Still a great album, and the band are still playing, or playing again anyway. They're doing The Water Rats on November 11th, and I just bought tickets! As London goes it is very convenient for us, being in walking distance of St Pancras and the fast train. I took a picture of myself outside the venue today, and was going to post it on the twitter, but somehow I look a) old, and b) wonky, that picture is going nowhere. I am young and even looking, I'm not sure what went wrong.

Still hot.

Estimated 354 cups of coffee from my espresso machine1 probably comes to £2.61 per cup (including actual coffee and now servicing1 but not the electricity).
