Blog2022 ≫ Is the Sandgate Hotel opening again?

Been very busy this week but I have found time for some nice lunchtime walks in this beautiful weather, and when I walked past The Sandgate Hotel the front door was open and some people were inspecting the tables out front. Was it the owner? Is the place going to open again soon?

Also on the same walk I got a delicious peanut butter and raspberry cake and a really good coffee from Orchard Lane, very nice.

The weather feels suddenly insane, it makes it nice and busy out, but it was a bit warm to sleep last night. It's only getting hotter too. I have to go into London tomorrow, so hope that is not too much hassle. It will be nice to have a lunch from Leather Lane, but it will be a shame not to be walking along the beach as I have done on the other nice days this week.

I saw someone on an electric longboard yesterday, it looked like a DIY effort too, very cool. Then one of the neighbours had a really nice road legal electric scooter, with numberplates and everything, and then today I saw the motorised surfboard. It is all go round here.

Looks like my birthday Saturday in London is picking up the pace. Someone I wasn't expecting to make it now, can, so great. Sort of thinking of trying for a cheeky run on the morning of the event, how can that work? Go up early, do a parkrun, leave my real clothes in a locker at the station, shower at the station after? Is that a thing? It might be! Put my running stuff in an envelope and post it home?

This is surely over two weeks of not drinking now.

Guessing 352 cups of coffee from my espresso machine1 probably comes to £2.63 a cup (including actual coffee and now servicing1 but not the 'leccy).
