Blog2022 ≫ Booked the second part of my trip

Eurostar is a bit annoying. I thought I'd have a look at Eurostar today, to at least get the first and possibly most likely to sell out part of my holiday booked. I saw one outbound trip London to Brussels for only £39 so thought I'd have that. Can't book it, first you need to tell us when you're coming back. I'm not coming back by Eurostar, I just forgot to check the "single / return" box. When I check that and choose only singles that same leg has gone up to £86. And no I can't book the return and just not use the second part of it as the minimum prices of the returns were in the eighty to ninety quid region. In the end I upgraded to first class (or at least premium leisure) for a bit more, so I get food and drinks and a bigger seat. I'm worth it. I wonder how much I can drink on the two hour trip?

In having a free reign of times at the new price, I went for a lunchtime trip instead of early morning. So now I have the option of going up the night before, doing a London parkrun and still making that, or even doing parkrun at home, getting changed and still getting up to London to make my train.

Now all I have to do is find and book accomodation and then get from Brussels to Vienna, and I have two nights and days to do that.

Happy Birthday Dad! In various years I was watching New Order (2001), The Dandy Warhols (1998), and Wench (1991) on this very day. Instead of being at home with Dad celebrating his birthday. And I'm not there today either!
