Blog2022 ≫ Back on the running track

Not an actual running track, but after two days off running (one recovering from Saturday's big run and then a day in London) I got back into it yesterday with another 10km. I have only done 3km today so far. Was very hot out yesterday, lovely, but hot, and looks similar today.

Was so nice yesterday work said "finish half hour early, go and enjoy it". I thought thing two wanted to go to the skate park, he said he did originally, but - surprise suprprise - come the day he'd prefer to stay in and play a video game with the curtains drawn. So I went out in the garden. Mowed the lawn, trimmed the hedge, and started hacking back the back garden. Thing one is pleased with the extra space I have generated so far, but it is looking a mess right now. Before it was overgrown, but natural looking. Now it looks hacked about, and there are trimmings all over the place. Will give it another go.

I had a plan to cut a hole in the back fence and put the football goal through that hole, so it's not actually on our land. It gives another metre or so of space to play in. Clare is not keen, partly because it's not our land, and it might look bad, but I heard her say to thing one "it will be a hole for big mouse to get through"... she seems to think that big mouse is kept out of the garden by the fence, even though there are holes there big enough for cats to get through. I think I might just give up on this one, and not even mention that I was thinking of pushing the shed out of the garden by the same means. It's just bramble out there, who is to know?

Suede "Suede" was eleven years ago today in 2011, the play through of their first album at Brixton Academy. This means the play through of Dog Man Star1 was eleven years ago tomorrow. We must have nearly-year-old baby for two nights! I'm sure he didn't come with us.

It's time to run. 71% done of my 200km target already, time to tick off a few more.

10k: Ten km, about six miles in old money. Sometimes talking about 10,000 steps though, an arbitrary daily step-count target.
