Blog2022 ≫ Got the beetle back

Just been out for a walk after work and I realized I could have been dictating an enormous blog post again. So here we go, even though I'm nearly home. First day back at work after the long bank holiday, and that went very smoothly. Quite quiet at work really, I got quite a lot done. Other news for the day. I got the beetle back. I texted OG Buswerks to say I'm not going to have time to go and pick it up in the week, is it okay to get it at the weekend? And he suggested getting the same breakdown guy to deliver it back home for me. An idea I was already thinking of, so did that. It cost me 80 quid this time when was only 60 quid to take it out there, but at least I got it back now and it looks all right. Well it looks maybe equally iffy as it did before but it's in a better state now. It's got a new bonnet. It's had a new front and rear valance. It's had the channels and stuff underneath welded it's been serviced. Everything's working, windscreen wipers are working, lights and indicators are working, so it's all safe and almost legal to drive. He said there was no fuel in it whatsoever so that was another reason for getting it delivered back instead of trying to drive it, and he was right. The fuel can was in the car, I have that now, but I wasn't sure if there was no fuel in it or if the fuel gauge wasn't working. So I just I got it down to the garage at the bottom of the road and it was right, there was no fuel. Gauge is fine. There was no petrol in it. It cost me twenty-five quid just to get a quarter of a tank in there, outrageous, but at least it's back now, working nicely. Think about what to do next.

Beautiful evening for a walk too. I went along the canal and back along Princes Parade. My usual short circuit, couldn't go very far because I'd already use that all my time taking the beetle out for a spin and fetching fuel, and I'd already been out three times today too, with two school runs and one cycle into Hythe to get some cash to pay the guy who was bringing the car back. So, very nice out there. Very bright. Just started to feel a little bit cooler but lots of people out and about, a lovely evening. I walked past The Fountain and I see we missed all the events over the Easter weekend which is a kind of a shame, kind of not. I think the boys would have enjoyed it if we'd have gone along to something, but it wouldn't have been that good.

I got further confirmation about our bonus scheme at work as well. So looking good, but I've already made myself a little shopping list things I want to get and so it will soon go. Maybe try and save a little for the next holiday.

I'm editing the auto-dictation thing and this is the final line, I knew this wouldn't work:

I'm now time for tea having every other. There's no way it's going to know the word ever. I'd be arta is there penny or raviata?

It's now time for tea, having arrabiata. There's no way it's going to know the word arrabiata. Is there penne arrabiata?

Yeah it struggled with penne arrabiata.
