Blog ā« 2022 ā« Moved everything to the new broadband
I think everything is using the new Trooli fibre broadband now. I did my trick of changing the details on the old router to something new, and then using the original name of the old router for the new router. It means I don't have to run around and change all the wifi settings on all the devices. I have a lot more plugged directly into the router now too, everything in the lounge, which is most of the things. TV, Sonos setup, Humax set top box, IKEA home automation hub, XBox, and https://pi-hole.net AND right now this laptop. I've left a spare ethernet cable in the cupboard under the TV, as Clare was advised to be hardwired to the internet if at all possible when she takes some online exam soon.
It's nice and fast, five times faster than we had previously:
Quiet evening here, hence me doing all the network fiddling about. I took the boys round their grandpa's for the night as I'm off to London in the morning and Clare is working too. Tried to lure Clare out to the pub tonight but she is revising. She gave me a lift to the Potting Shed, but just too late, and it was closed. I knew it closed early and would have had a sensible night anyway.
Think I might be working more or less on my own tomorrow, I only know of a couple of people going in. Not a lot of point in me going all that way you might say! But as they're just announcing the bonuses I'll not rock the boat today.
Not got the beetle back yet, no time to go over there. I have to take some fuel over apparently in order to drive it back!
Has Boris Johnson not resigned yet? Seriously??
