Blog2022 ≫ Jobs for the day

Busy day for a Sunday. Took Clare to pump class so we could keep the car, then went with the boys to Homebase to choose some paint to paint a bedroom. Got new brushes and dust sheets and things to make it easier, and a new roller blind too. This will match the new wall colour, and I hope I can easily mash it up with the existing IKEA smart remote control blind that is there easily enough. It's just take off the actual blind bit and glue it on again isn't it? This will be the first time I have ever painted a wall not pure brilliant white or soft linen too, as the boy wants blue. Just going to do one wall in that and the rest back to my safe colours.

I've also seen a think I fancy for my study, to make my background on the video calls look a bit more sheddy, a bit surf-shack, and a bit like the Inn Doors. I was thinking of doing this with actual planks, but this wood cladding might be just the job.

Wood cladding that I might go for in the study

Just have to work out if I need to run any wires behind it first. Then obviously have a bit of a clear out of what is there right now. Can I move that big fridge into the utility room?

Also today I have to make dinner for tomorrow, send out some ebay sellings, maybe start the painting prep, and fix the washing machine. It has an error code which means the filter is blocked, so I have to drain it and investigate that. Then being picked up just before five to go to a gig in Dover. Off to see Caravan. I think it is folk / prog, from about fifty years ago.

If there is time I have some new things from IKEA, wall mounted hanging things and remote switches to set up. There's not time is there.

Lovely peaceful afternoon yesterday while the boys were out, Clare and I walked into Hythe. We looked at cushions, didn't buy any, and then went in the Potting Shed. Two days in a row, is this my new local..?

Later I got a takeaway from Phoenix in Folkestone, it was not as good as I remember, probably going back to Nine Dragons next time, though there's not a lot in it.

I was seeing The Cure this day in 2008 and Iron Maiden this day back in 2002.

UPDATE: Washing machine drained and hopefully fixed, there were sweet papers, a coin, and a laminated parkrun barcode stuck in the filter.
