Situation in Ukraine is insane1 is Putin really threatening to go nuclear on anyone who gets in his way? Isn't absolutely everyone standing against him now, including a lot of Russian people?
The situation takes me back to a classic Judge Dredd story where (if I remember it right) it starts with a civil disturbance, everyone in Mega City One going crazy and fighting each other in the Block War story, and it turns out they were doing this because they'd been drugged and it was a distraction for something the Sov Block were up to, which led to the Apocalypse War2. See, the people going mental about masks and vaccinations and being disruptive there were under Russian influence all along. It was meant to tear the country apart to strengthen Russia's position in the world, but it didn't quite work. I'm not mad, Putin is behind all the disinformation campaigns of modern times, the anti-vaccine and leave the EU campaigns, and he's using back issues of 2000AD as a guidebook.
Nice day yesterday, didn't get all my chores done though. We had friends visiting in the morning, then thing two had a friend round in the afternoon. We planned to go into Folkestone for dinner, and even booked it, but then remembered our supermarket delivery was coming right over dinner time. Will probably go back to getting a morning delivery again next week. Had dinner at home, and I did manage to make some bolognaise for the week too, and we played Catan2, and went for a walk round Sandgate, and watched Death In Paradise.
It is pay week at work, could be a busy one but hopefully a bit calmer. I'm taking a day off this week so we can go to Canterbury and go in a travel agent. We're starting to plan a trip to Italy but need some help with it really as we have quite a complicated set of requirements.
