Blog2022 ≫ Relaxing day off

Good parkrun yesterday morning. As ever I woke up not quite feeling like it, should I just have a lie-in today and skip it? But I headed along, and it was very busy, good atmosphere and I enjoyed it. Felt really busy, and I started at the back and thought I was going to just trudge round, but managed a lot of overtaking and did it inside twenty-four minutes.

Folkestone parkrun results for event #323. Your time was 00:23:58. Congratulations on completing your 74th parkrun and your 67th at Folkestone parkrun today. You finished in 63rd place and were the 56th Male out of a field of 296 parkrunners and you came 7th in your age category VM45-49. Take a look at this week's full set of results on our website. Your PB at Folkestone parkrun remains 00:20:50. Your best time this year remains 00:22:56.

Took the boys to grandpa's house for the day, then washed the car and did a trolley dash around Tesco. Then lunch and Clare dropped me in Folkestone. I thought I'd meander back, maybe via a pub. I went in some charity bookshops and got some things for the boys and also found a bundle of Make Magazine1. These have probably dated a bit but were cheap and might provide some good inspiration. Makes me think I should take my stack of Raspberry Pi magazines back to the same Oxfam charity bookshop, might be a good way of finding someone who appreciates them.

All the pubs and cafes I passed were too busy! Everyone was out as the weather was top, so the streets were all busy. Nice walk back, but no beer.

I picked the boys up again and we tried to watch Avengers: Age Of Ultron2 but it got a bit complicated for them, they were not really following it. After they'd gone to bed I tried to find Vintage Voltage that Dad recommended, and there are none on catch-up, but I did find Rust Brothers which I enjoyed. Nice to see someone turning a rusty heap into a beautiful car instead of the other way round

Got some friends coming round today, will try and get out in the sunshine again too.

Nineteen years today I was wathing The Darkness supporting Def Leppard, and this very day today in this year 2022 I was supposed to be going up to London with Andy to see Love Hate in Camden. That got postponed a while back. I think. It could be still on I suppose and we've just forgotten about it until just now, but I think it was postponed again.
