Blog2022 ≫ Runuary day twenty-seven

Up even earlier than usual today, as I went to bed fairly early. So did 3km even before thing one was up, then topped it up to 5km while he ate his breakfast. No push-ups today, what a treat. I am learning how to do sit-ups1 ready for next month's challenge. Seems it is legit to tuck my toes under something, then I can do it. Without that, I cannot, I try to do a sit-up and my legs just come up. I think my head is too heavy.

My chair is in at IKEA! I have ordered it! I have not told Clare I have ordered it. I have had to pay FORTY QUID delivery for it, on top of the vastly increased prices because of brexit. Cheers everyone.

Ro maybe has a good point:

Isn’t it going to look odd in the living room. There’s this luxury sofa with the DCI lounging on, with her 330ml can of Brew Dog Punk IPA. And there’s you in the “I’m in my twilight years chair and can nap whilst watching repeats of Midsomer Murders” glass of red dangerously tilting to the side. It will look out of place surely.

It's arriving in two weeks.

There's a house actually like ours on our street up for grabs2. They have not converted the garage, no view, no back garden, but solar panels. I want solar panels. Will see what it sells for. Interestingly different layout inside, they have got rid of the doors to the hallway so they're all open plan. Means your lounge and kitchen and diner are all open all the way through there. We can close ours off, but it does mean that where we have doors we don't put furniture, so it looks bigger how they have it.

Oh and the coronavirus is raging through thing two's school again. We got the update yesterday that we have to consider everyone in the class as having beein in close contact with confirmed covid cases. Nothing to be done about it, he's gone into school today as normal, and all the teachers are no longer wearing masks, because the government say it's all fine now. It makes very little sense.

Twenty-five years ago today I was on the NME Brat Bus tour, actually on the tour for a couple of days. Travelling on the bus, staying in the hotels, one day in Manchester, one day in Leeds. I was supporting the live reporting of the tour for https://nme.com - shame it was not a better line up.

I have been watching more youtubes of overnight sleeper trains in mainland Europe.

More noisy war helicopters going over through the night yesterday, though fewer.

Great result in the Wordle, I got the English one in three and the French one in two!

Barry Cryer died, he was a comedy legend.
