Blog2022 ≫ Runuary day twenty-two

Up early for parkrun, and at the last minute decided to drive there instead of going on my bike. Told myself it was so I could get back quickly and deliver the boys to grandpa's house, and not just because it looked cold and icy out there.

Very busy parkrun, was it maybe the first dry day we have had? A popular one anyway. Icy underfoot. I got a bad start as I stopped to chat to a friend so had to battle throug the pack a bit. I think I had quite a good run but my time was over twenty-four minutes. I think I lost about twenty seconds at the start and lost a bit at every turn and every icy bit by having to slow down and go carefully. If it was better conditions it could have been a record breaker today...

After that, dropped the boys off, and we went into Canterbury. Did not even need much, Clare got a couple of bits of clothes, I got some coffee, and picked up my new glasses, and we had lunch in Wagamama. I have been hearing an advert with Huey Morgan of the Fun Lovin Criminals on Radio X constantly for this veganuary special dish they are doing, so ordered that. It was good! Their take on vegan fish and chips, so some fake fish that did seem quite fishy to me, and something like "bang bang" sweet potato instead of chips and a sort of soya bean and avocado mash. Very nice. It'll be gone at the end of the month, so you might miss out now.

Back with a plan to fit a new cabinet light in the study, but have sat down in front of the computer now with a cup of tea so that ship might have sailed.

Speaking of which we finished and very much enjoyed Around The World In Eighty Days on TV. It, and the book I am reading1 is giving me more plans for travel. If we go on holiday in Europe this year (maybe Italy) can I leave Clare and the boys to get a plane and meet them there traveling on trains and coaches and boats and things? I think I can...

The chair I want is still unavailable, I can't see anything else I fancy, so I will just wait. I wondered if this might do2 but the boss says no. I keep watching here3 for Habitat Radius furniture as occasionally they have a special price. Worth a look every day in case it happens on the tallboy that I want. We also now want one of the little shelving units they did too. Long discontinued, I got two of them on ebay in the past though, will keep looking.
