Blog โ‰ซ 2021 โ‰ซ Save it for a rainy day indeed

Mum says not to fritter my share money I just got away, and to save it for a rainy day. A wise man once said "It's pissing down now isn't it?". If we're allowed we're going to Stratford on Sunday, and I'm going to look at expensive coffee machines1. That's not frittering it away is it? I also bought more stonks and more premium bonds. Man alive the shares have been doing badly over the past couple of weeks though they have turned around a bit today.

Still not entirely convinced we can still go to Stratford on Sunday. For one thing Clare just got a message that she has to work, which we're hoping is a mistake, but mainly the whole country is still going to crap isn't it? The government are being less than useless again with confusing messaging. Do go out, but don't go out. Don't cancel your christmas party but don't go to it either. It's good that Boris Johnson's ride appears to be over. It's good that these secret christmas parties2 are finally being leaked. Interesting news that those attending Boris Johnson's non-party last christmas were asked to leave by the back door. They knew they were doing the wrong thing having their team celebrations when the whole country had been told not to socialise.

Schools are making plans to go back online which would be really bad. Thing one didn't have the best year seven, because he missed so much, but he's had a really good year eight so far. He's come top or second in his class in a few subjects, including maths and French so we're really pleased. We could do without him missing any more school, but we will soldier on.

I was also at the Manic Street Preachers twenty-five years again today. Yes I said this on Tuesday, I saw them two or three times this week in 1996. A friend says Kylie Minogue joined them on stage at one of the shows, you'd think I'd remember that.
