On a bit of a whim I decided to try the beetle again today. It would not start at all the other day, would not turn over. When I plugged my USB starter in it tried to turn over but felt like something was seized. I went out again today, got a feeling it was worth another try and it was. Didn't even try it without the USB starter but after a couple of splutters it was fine. I drove to Hythe and back and parked it back on the road, so Clare will be pleased. Clearly the beetle KNOWS I have been looking at electric replacements and has pulled its socks up suddenly.
Was very cold this morning, lots of frost everywhere. Our other car was covered in it after the other cars on the street were clear.
Definitely a confirmed case of covid in thing two's class, and one of my workmates got pinged to say he'd been in covid-contact last Thursday. The day we were in the office together! I did not get a ping.
This is the day to cancel our Zurich trip, but there's no getting through to British Airways. I hope they cancel it automatically, the original paperwork said that would happen if I didn't pay the deposit. I hear flights into Switzerland from the UK are being cancelled anyway. My nightmare now is that BA say I still have to pay the balance and then they give me some sort of voucher.
We are extending the London part of that trip instead by an extra day and going to Winter Wonderland. It will be crap but it will be christmassy crap.
My auctions are going nicely, nearly £200 and still twenty four hours to go.
I had a vivid dream last night that the sea came right up to our front door.
