Blog2021 ≫ Rest of the weekend: Chessington

The trip to Chessington was not really birthday related, but it's just what either of the kids would choose to do on their dream day, so timed perfectly. We got a good discount on this day through Clare's work. It's not my ideal day out but I got into the spirit of it and went on the rides. Straight onto the Vampire ride before the queues build up, which must be the fastest ride there. Not everything was open right away, they stagger the openings. Also, no coffee again, what is going on? Where is all the coffee?

We did not go on the tiger theme water ride, it was all a bit cold for that, but I did see tigers walking about in their enclosure. We were not clever enough to entirely avoid getting wet on this cold day though as we went on a bit swinging chair ride thing that went through jets of water, and got soaked. They had a full body dryer we could go in though so all good.

The other three went on a few more rides than I did, including two more goes on the vampire.

My favourite bit was the vegan dirty fries I had for my lunch.

We were out of there before the closing rush at 4pm. We had a reservation at a nearby pub for dinner, but cancelled it and decided to head back and eat nearer to home.
