Now it's come round close enough we've been able to book the last missing part of our pre-christmas holiday, so we now have train tickets between Brussels and Cologne. And now we've started looking at travel restrictions and how we actually do this trip. And it's not looking good and it might all be off.
We adults are probably going to be OK as we can prove we have been double vaccinated, so are allowed to go places. Thing one has been singly vaccinated, but that's not enough and we can't prove that. Thing two has not been vaccinated, but would be allowed to go if he quarantined on arrival for something between five and fourteen days. We're only going for two days! Looks like the trip might be off.
Nearly all of it is cancellable and fully refundable. But not the last train tickets I bought.
I can spend the refund on the plumber and electrician's bills. The plumber came, but has not billed me yet. The concensus in the Inn Doors was I had chosen a notoriously expensive one. To be fair I didn't actually choose them, they were the only one willing to do the job. The electrician came today to size up the job and will be sending me a quote asap, I might have my new sockets and absence of trailing extension leads this time next week.
I'm going into the office on Thursday, even though cases and deaths are rising very fast. A couple more people I know have it now.
