We had a full fun day out yesterday, took the train to Ashford to go to the cinema and also try and take in Ashford Coachworks 1. First a stop to Clare's work to pick some things up and drop some things off, only she'd forgotten her locker key. So we had a walk around Ashford first. It's still mostly not worth going to, but the Coachworks was nice. We were there a bit early, as we wanted our lunch, and it looks like it doesn't completely get going until later. We had pizza with a couple of sides from Il Pakkero:
Ex Rome residents Jac & Fran serve up the best authentic Italian street food for you to enjoy! Most of their food is homemade following the Italian tradition, every piece authentic to grandma’s recipe. Il Pakkero use local products as much as possible, supporting Kentish producers. They believe in only sourcing ethically farmed meats and vegetables.
and a couple of tasty draft beers from Boutilliers:
Boutilliers bottle and tap offers awesome draft beer as well as a bottle shop. Enjoy Boutillers’ own unique brews or pick from a vast curated collection of bottles and cans, to take home or enjoy in The Yard!
Ashford's not far from here, about fifteen minutes on the train, but once you're there you're not far from London really, that's only another half hour, and I suppose that's why we seemed to be paying London prices for everything. We had a good time at the Coachworks place, even played some table tennis. Then to the newer smaller cinema to see the new Marvel film Shang Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings. Really good, lots of good fight sequences. We got there too early and didn't want to sit through the trailers so went in the sports bar next door. You can't do that at the out of town multiplex. It's a GOOD sports bar though, good beer from Tiny Rebel, big screen football results and the boys played on a video game too. We were slightly late for the start of the film.
Nearly forgot I had quite a good parkrun in the morning too, under twenty-three minutes.
Off swimming today, back to Ashford to see if the waterslides are open, and for Clare to actually do her work chores. Maybe bowling after that, or maybe the Inn Doors, we'll see... It's a lovely day out there again.
