Blog โ‰ซ 2021 โ‰ซ Things I like today

A balanced take on all the IKEA smarthome kit I have, from Wired. I didn't know my Sonos speakers had features that I could not access because I don't have an iphone! I also like the look of the Eneby built in bluetooth speaker - you're mean to drill a hole and embed them in other furniture. Just the sort of thing I was after when adapting an old armchair, However, they're not available in the UK right now. I think they might be retired actually, so probably weren't that good.

Also You, me & Cold War Steve โ€“ the international exhibition of the people 20211. You're meant to download and print the pictures and put on your own exhibition and let him know about it. If I had more time I could hawk this round the pubs and cafes of Sandgate or something and put on an exhibition. I have two Cold War Steve prints. Actually, I have one in the house and one that is still at the framers, I think he owes me a call back to say it is ready. I will go down there at the weekend.

Also, today is Friday for me, I have a day off tomorrow to spend with Clare and the boys. She's off too, we're going to Clip And Climb and probably swimming or something in the morning, and a lunch out somewhere too. Can we find anywhere nice in Dover? Or will it be Nandos? Or will we detour on the way there?

I had quite a result yesterday at work, a thing I have been putting off investigating as I knew it wasn't going to work for my new project. A quick look into it and all I had to do was remove some temporary patching code someone had put in a few months back and it works fine! So just delete some code and things work better, that's how I like to work. We have a date now for going back into the office, I'm back for the day on Wednesday, which is the day before the boys go back to school. And then Wednesday after that, and then we'll see after that...

Things I like less today, a seemingly imminent terror attack at Kabul airport.

Twenty-two years ago today a cheeky Blur warm-up gig in New Cross, this is the one where you can see me on the South Bank Show.
