Blog2021 ≫ Crazy weather tonight

I really should have gone to bed earlier than this. I had a long but productive day at work, and Clare had quite a long day at work too, she was in court today. We had a chilli that I'd made at the weekend, and planned to go to the Clarendon either before or after our tea. That did not quite work out, the boys were not in agreement, so we watched their TV show and played Mario Kart and then Death In Paradise and then everyone went to bed except me. I stayed up to hear the amazing storm come in and put on Yesterday1 while I was waiting and ended up watching the whole thing. It is a GREAT film, I feel sure I must have seen it before, but it is the emotions that are familiar rather than the details of the plot.

The eldest primary school years went on their residential trip today. This is the trip that thing one went on two years ago and thing two will be going on in two years time. I wonder what it was like for them today, I think they are staying in some kind of dormitary / hut thing. The rain and thunder were loud enough to stop me going to bed, I bet they were screaming there tonight.

Twenty-five years ago today I was at one of the first Mansun gigs at the Joiners in Southampton. At the time this felt extremely significant but they have not really stood the test of time. Perhaps they will have a renaissance.

We're also coming into Glastonbury season, so I was thinking about heading to Glastonbury this year in 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, and more, I mean I could go on...
