Blog2021 ≫ Happy birthday thing one

Even stranger than the lockdown birthdays that everyone else has had, a proper isolation birthday for this poor boy. It's not been so bad though, he was pleased with his gifts and he's done pretty well. I tried to set him some school work but the school just haven't provided enough. We found some that was fun and educational, geography quizzes and things, and then he went back to gaming. New season of Fortnite started today. He'd stopped playing Fortnite but the idea of something new lured him back in. While I was working he shouted "can I buy something out of my birthday money? It's only £10", well of course. Then it pinged in my email "thank you for your £10 per month subscription"... I can cancel it at the end of the month, and I must remember.

For lunch he wanted burgers. I did not fancy the smell of them sizzling in the house really and remembered we had a disposable barbecue still, so did that and it worked well.

I put a sausage on for me after they'd eaten, and then remembered I had to run a meeting, so left it on. One very blackened sausage after the meeting.

Clare's training in Canterbury is going well, really interesting, lots of introductions to different departments. She's going to a quiz locally tomorrow, then Operation: Operation starts in earnest for us. I have to pack thing two's school stuff and make sure he has his tea early so he can be collected. Then he's staying out, we're staying in, and up early for the hospital in the morning. Then hopefully we'll be back early, Clare will be back here at the end of the day and we'll figure out the rest from there. Have to see how thing one is before we decide what we can do next.

As we can't leave the house I did half hour on the treadmill.

Poor day on the cryptocurrencies today but a slight recovery on the shares.

Oh and we got an update about our coronavirus tests, we both don't have it still.
