Blog2021 ≫ Good exercise, bad cryptocurrency

Did I already say I went to the Three Mariners on Friday night? It was good, we had one of the little beach hut type things at the end of the garden. Very nice, but not quite warm enough, so we didn't outstay our welcome. I sent a picture to friends who said it looks illegal, as it's only open on one side. Definitely feels like you're outdoors in one of those. They will prove very popular in the Summer I think, even when we are allowed back indoors.

Saturday I did not run. Should have run, and could have run, just didn't, a bit lazy. I did run around the supermarkets in the morning to get pizzas and treats (but no beer actually this week) and take the boys to grandpa's house, and then do a huge walk in the afternoon. Not so lazy really. I walked 10km to The Firkin and back, to get a few takeaway beers. I sat and had a half while I was there, and then strolled back along the seafront. The new Folkestone searfront development is really coming on, up to five or six stories high now, but still just bare concrete at the moment.

This morning (Sunday) I did get up and run, did 8km beyond Hythe and back, but in the opposite direction to what I'd normally do. I ran out along Princes Parade, and kept going. I meant to do 10km, but just felt like stopping.

Also walked around the town today, with the boys, to get some car cleaning stuff. Came back past Aspendos and it looks to me like people are actually sitting inside there. The whole front of the place opens up, so maybe it's a similar thing to our beach hut.

Fairly poor weekend on the cryptocurrency investments. One of them, Ethereum, just keeps rising, so my few peanuts I have there are performing well. The same amount I put in Dogecoin has been going great guns this week, and was expected to spike this weekend. Elon Musk was on Saturday Night Live yesterday, he has been a great mouthpiece for it. He said it was a hustle, and the price has bombed. Everyone thought it would go up and then down this weekend, but it just went down down down. I did not set up a "stop loss" in time, and it cost me. I am still up, it has been a good week before that, and the shares have recovered a bit too, but I could have been up a lot more.

5k: Five kilometres, about three miles in old money.

10k: Ten kilometres, just over six miles to you. Sometimes talking about 10,000 steps though, an arbitrary daily step-count target.
