Blog โ‰ซ 2021 โ‰ซ Lovely day for a run

Woke up with a very slightly thick head this morning, as after much flipping and flopping during the week I did go to the pub last night. Went to The Britannia just for a couple with Alwyn, but then it wasn't as cold as last week so two turned into four. Then back to have my tea, and a couple more dozing in front of the TV.

This morning I could not lie in too long as I had to take thing one to a Saturday morning sports club the school have laid on. Then I went to Tesco and bought treats for the weekend, and then I was feeling just about ready to run. The desire to do a longer run without running into the wind led me a different route, starting up the hill, then through Cheriton. At this point I bumped into the boy who was just coming out of his sports club and he'd had a great time. They played volleyball, lacrosse, and softball, which were all new to him. Then he went into the shop to buy sweets and walk round to grandpa's house (on his own, he's so big) and I carried on running. Through Folkestone and back through Sandgate. I was not at 10k when I passed Orchard Lane or I would have stopped there for coffee and cake, instead I carried on running home.

It's a lovely day out there, I will go for another walk this afternoon. I did a little bit of work at lunchtime, goodness, just to make sure we're ahead of the game and have delivered everything we promised on Monday. Got some interesting bits and pieces on at the moment, though the more interesting stuff is not high priority. I want to see it done so I don't mind putting in the extra time.

Tonight Clare is out on the megalash, will see how she copes with the cold. The boys and I are eating pizza, and I suppose finding a film, don't know what yet.

Hilarious that Dominic Cummings is ripping into Boris Johnson, I hope they absolutely ruin each other.

10k: Ten km, just over six miles to you. Sometimes talking about 10,000 steps though, an arbitrary daily step count target.
