Hmm I had to install something on my personal laptop to use it temporarily for work, and now it has been completely assimilated... I hope it's not going to start deleting things that it things are not work related.
As I was writing that I heard back from Apple support to say while it looked like a plan yesterday, today I am not eligible for an on-site repair of my broken work laptop. Can I take it to the nearest Apple store? In Canterbury? Sure I can do that on Saturday but it's not ideal. Or can I take it to the office? I need a bit more notice to go in there because it's half term and the boys are here, it would take me at least two hours each way trying to do that spontaneously today and would I be sure to get the laptop back right away? Instead they're sending a courier to collect it. I think they should have done this yesterday, and preemptively sent me a new laptop.
In other work news the end of year results are in, and they are mostly really good, and everyone is pleased.
Man alive these tories are corrupt aren't they?

UPDATE: aargh laptop woes are not over, now I have to phone an independent-but-authorised apple dealer to do this. They're not local, how will this be quicker? This is where Holiday Extras did well, we had qualified experts on site who could do this.
UPDATE UPDATE: this kept going all day, gone back to the idea of posting the broken laptop and getting a temporary one posted to me. There was talk of me going to London to get it, doesn't seem the most efficient way though.
