I'm thinking of going into business, there could be a call for taking a lovely old bit of furniture and completely messing it up. I finally got the IKEA / Sonos speakers off the floor of the study and fitted them inside the bureau. This necessitated mounting the monitor that was already in there on the back of the bureau, as where I had it on its stand normally didn't leave enough space for the speakers. Because I didn't measure it all to start with...
Here's where I put some more holes in this beautiful antique 1, reusing an existing TV mount so I can attach the monitor to the back of the unit:
Then here is the monitor and speakers in place. No of course it's not going to drive me mad that it's slightly off-centre... It all sounds good, it's great having the speakers at face-level now, plus having that extra bit of free floor space.
And here's the whole thing tidied away:
Just got to get my "fake books attached to the inside of the glass" idea going next.
I did two good 5k runs a the weekend, Saturday's one was my first of the week and I think it was my fastest of the year so far, nice! The weather was great out for running, sunny, not too hot, and not windy.
I fitted in all the regular weekend chores too, shopping and housework and cooking some meals for the week. My weekends are not relaxing at the moment. Still found time for a beer delivery and the time to drink it too.
Fajitas for dinner last night and it was great, and there's just enough left for my lunch today.
