Blog2021 ≫ Free ride in an ambulance

Happy valentines day... Thing one woke us up at about seven being sick. Went to him and found he'd already been sick and didn't want to wake us, bless him! He was a bit under the weather yesterday, but worse today. He had a temperature too and hadn't slept and was quite upset with it all. We sat him up on the sofa and he was proper lethargic, so just in case it was something worse I called 111. After going through many "no I'm not calling about coronavirus" hoops and then doing the choose your own adventure questionnaire with the operator, they said a real doctor should call us back. That doctor was concerned by the symptoms too, so they called an ambulance! It arrive almost immediately (they had used the sirens apparently) and I went with him to the hospital. They did tests on him and decided it was some virus, but not that one, and it was mostly the dehydration from being sick that was the problem. He was fine again by the time Clare collected us from the hospital, but has been up and down again since being home. He's napping now so probably another disturbed night because of disturbed sleep patterns. We have the day off tomorrow anyway so it's fine. He seems to be recovering again.

Had some sad news this morning that a friend from Fortune City had died in the night too.

On this day in past years I was at gigs. Twenty-six years ago today Elastica and 60ft Dolls probably, I remember the snow and the beetle spinning on the way home from that. Twenty-five years ago today I saw The Godfathers in London, part of a "twenty gigs in twenty days" I organised while I had three weeks off work. I can't remember all the other gigs now and I have no record of any apart from this one, stange. Twenty three years ago today Primal Scream.

Off to collect a Nine Dragons now.
