Blog2021 ≫ New blinds!

I fitted the new IKEA remote controlled blinds, and they work well. I only did the one room, as thing one was working in one of the rooms and I didn't want to disturb him. They are smart looking grey roller blinds and they move nicely too. They weren't too hard to put up either. One of the stages of the home automation pairing was a little slow and seemed like it wasn't working, but it was all good. The only other hiccup was that the holes in the brackets are not big enough for the hollow wall fixings I need in this paper house. In trying to drill the holes out, the bracket came out of my hand and ripped my thumbnail back a bit, so that is hurting. Hope I don't lose it. Thing one is pleased with his blinds. Thing two has to wait a little longer, as now I need more of those hollow wall anchors. Still, he got the new bunk bed and thing one had to wait, so he doesn't mind about this.

I put a new smart colour changing bulb in too. I changed my mind at the last minute and didn't get a new light fitting for thing two's room, as I think there's a danger of bumping his hed on it climbing up to the bunkbed, so as a result I don't have a new remote control for that room, and I need one. So, I need to update my shopping list again, there will be another IKEA order come pay day!

I have a wine delivery coming tomorrow, I must hide it from Clare to be sure she won't drink it before my dryanuary is up.

My shares had a good recovery today, mostly because of Pineapple Power. If I'd put all my money there yesterday, and sold it all today I'd be quite happy. But I didn't. I made back the £30 my portfolio went down yesterday.

dryanuary: Not drinking for the month of January.
