Blog โ‰ซ 2020 โ‰ซ Actually back at work

First day back was fine. Still working from home of course, and no school runs or anything to worry about yet. Started pulling at a thread in some work, and pulled and pulled and ended up unravelling quite a bit of someone else's

(/wiki/#code). It will be good when it's all done but I feel like I'm up to my guts in

(/wiki/#code) at the moment.

It's about time to revisit my old redundancy shopping list, as a) I need a new thing, and b) now I look I realise I can tick something off. We had NEW CAR on the list for ages and I partly thought (hoped) we'd not get one. But we have, and it's great. It's going to cost less than I thought we might spend at one point so it's no problem. So I can think about more spending! Let's take a look at the list:

The first new items are the Ikea remote blinds, taking a bit of a chance on these. We need some new blinds for one of the boys rooms, so I hope these are good. I'm wary of having to replace the battery back in them, but it's rechargeable and might work. It's a ยฃ300 gamble, as I'm going to buy them for both rooms at once. This is different to the remote blinds I already bought10, that was just a motor to fix to the existing blinds in the playroom.

The next thing is another bunk bed. The bunk bed has worked out really well, he's pleased with it to sleep in, though he's not really made the most of the space under it yet. So time to get one for the other room too.

I should prioritise the running shoes, I have bumped them up the list. This is the last time I'll list all the items I managed to tick off from the actual redundancy pay. From now on it's all things I'd like to get next pay day. Not all the same pay day. Pay day is in ten days. Here are the previous done items:

Sounds like the coronavirus is getting even further out of control. At least it distracts from the bad Brexit deal. It's going to look worse and worse the closer it's looked at. It's better than no deal for sure, so we can celebrate that, but it's not as good as just staying in the EU would have been. We just get less now and it just costs more.
