Big CRASH while we were having our tea last night. The shelves fell out of the underneath of the bunkbeds while the boys were larking about on top of it. So the bed itself all stable, but the shelves in the middle (that bit where I just needed to put a few more screws in, but needed Clare to help hold it stable, so I was waiting for her to come back in) they fell out. Doh.
The ladder is connected to these shelves and doesn't feel stable without them, so I took the bedding off and the boy slept back on his old bunk last night. One of the ladder steps got a bit damaged when it fell down, but it's repairable. Shame though.
I followed my plan and got up for an early run today. The knee was fine, though my left big toe hurts now. Going to try and keep this up for the next few weeks, and maybe a bit more at lunch or after work too.
The barracks up the road are on the front page of the Guardian today 1, though not read what it says yet.
Seen lots about the 70% effective vaccine today, but then lots of clarifications on the twitter like
All joking aside, news orgs need to clarify their reporting on this RIGHT NOW. As detailed here, the Oxford vaccine is reportedly 90% effective under the dosing regime that will actually be used. Last thing we want is people refusing to be "fobbed off" with it. https://twitter.com/johnthelutheran/status/1330785245399015426
and
The vaccine that will be rolled out will be the 90% effective dosing regime. Dosing regimes are tested in trials with the most efficacious rolled out. You should clarify that - the vaccine that will be rolled out will be dosed in the 90% effective regime. https://twitter.com/pete_ar_fryn/status/1330772836408025089
