Blog โ‰ซ 2020 โ‰ซ Swimming seems to be the new running

I did get up early and head out for a run. Went to the little railway in Hythe and back, but then one knee started feeling odd so I walked a lot of the way back. Was relatively busy on Princes Parade, everyone was swimming. Not seen so many swimmers at once, even in the summer. I think there were more swimmers out today than runners. I spoke to one of the swimmers, asked him if it was a club and he says no, and if they formed a club he'd stop going. Sea swimming is very trendy right now, probably it is the new veganism.

Three gigiversaries today Skid Row in 1991, a pleasingly round-numbers Queens Of The Stone Age at the sadly missed Astoria, and then something or other also at the Astoria. Ade points out1 we were at XXX All Nighter today in 1997, and I remember we were at a gig at the Astoria before this. Can't quite remember what it was, and it's not in my gig history yet. I seem to remember it was David Devant, as someone I knew from Southampton came up to it, but it's unlikely they headlined. It might have been My Life Story. That's the theory I'm going with. Hopefully someone on the twitter can come up with some details.

Love Hate supported Skid Row that time, they were a big favourite at the time. They're playing at Camden Underworld in May and I think we're going to try and go to it... All coronavirus aside anyway, assuming it is still on. I should probably be working in the London office by then so will be quite handy. Nice to have something to look forward to!

Thing two did not fall out of his new bunk bed overnight. He's still very pleased with it. I'm very pleased it didn't fall down in the night.

I might get a takeaway from Nine Dragons tonight to celebrate. Then if my knee is good I'll be getting up for a run before work.
