Blog2020 ≫ Grim day out today

I braved a bit of rain and wind this morning to do a 5k. It was a proper filthy steeplechase along the canal path, so my trainers are now drying out on the radiator. The waves were being whipped up right over Princes Parade in parts, and the sea looked really foul and rush. The beach had been completely destroyed, it only takes one storm to undo all the work put in to restore it. The trucks and diggers are still out so the beach will hopefully get pushed back into shape again. The weather really picked up when I got home, so ruined Clare's chance of going out.

Today we're having a fairly quiet day in after that. Bit of housework, some crafts, and I've made a couple of dinners for the week. No cooking for tonight though, we're getting food from Market Square1. They won't deliver here, so I have to collect it. Hope it's good, sounds like there is something for everyone.

No DIY to do today, next thing I'm waiting on is a couple of light switch covers2, to stop people turning off the lights at the mains and stopping the remote control working. Should arrive this week. Then I'm thinking of a new big telly, should I order it today..? As soon as that arrives it will involve moving the playroom round a bit, moving the old TV down there.

Happy birthday to Guiselle today!

Three gig anniversaries for today, twenty years ago today Frank Black at Camden Underworld that I went to with a big group of friends. Then twenty-five years ago today Chumbawamba in Portsmouth though I'm sure that was the Pyramids rather than the Wedgewood Rooms so I must update that. Less of a round number David Baddiel and Rob Newman in 1992.

Ooh my new share dealing ISA is ready to go now, what should I buy first?
