Not running probably as one of my knees is still feeling the run from yesterday. Also it's much colder and raining today, but as yesterday proved I am not afeared of just a little bad weather. I will take a walk to the supermarket and back I think, see if I can pick up a nice bargain for tea. Then Clare is off today, so she's going out this afternoon. She will be back in time for me to go to the Inn Doors at 5pm, and I'm keeping that option open, but most likely not going out today. I want to see how this coronavirus pans out this week, and how the new 10pm closing times and things works out for everyone.
Gig anniversaries today, at the height of Britpop this day in 1995 I was at... The Pogues. Without even Shane Macgowan I think. I was volunteering at this one for fanzine credit. Also this day in 2002 The Darkness at a "best of In The City" event at the Water Rats.
Britpop Memories 1 has it that today is the twenty-fifth anniversary of the release of some good singles, including Pulp's double a-side and Manson (aka Mansun)'s "Take It Easy Chicken". I have the original one sided 7'' and Discogs says it is worth some money, nice. Also a Sleeper release today, so any excuse to share this poster from the tour of the time:
60ft Dolls were big favourites of mine, this is a good line up for a provincial gig. That's also The Wannadies hidden under the "sold out" bit slapped across the poster.
Not sure about this new amazon / ring flying security drone thing, and neither are New Atlas 2. It's good for a certain kind of property I suppose, but not a normal house like ours. If you're away and you get a "ping" that something moved in your house it's good to check the camera, and it sounds great that the camera can move round the house, but it looks like it can only fly a preprogrammed route. So you'd have to leave all your doors propped open. Future versions of this will probably be good.
