Blog2020 ≫ Thing one missed the bus

Final day of the first week, most things have gone smoothly. Today though he missed the bus, by coming back to the house to look for his phone when I knew it was in his blazer pocket all along... Luckily we built a spare bus into his schedule, and he caught that, so as far as I know he made it to school on time.

The school "you must have exactly this equipment" has been as annoying as I thought, the calculator that he already had (that he won in the mathss competition) would have been absolutely fine for school. We bought the other one the school insisted on anyway. Maybe they'll still be recommending the same "no longer available" calculator when thing two starts.

Homework standards are slipping already, he rushed his first bit to get playing computer games, then he forgot that he had two other lots to do. We only found out when another parent texted with a question about it. They were only tiny tasks, only one was actually writing anything down, but he's got to sort this out.

Quite a funny thing really, when he got his calculator today he also got his CDT apron and folder, it's a bundle we had to order from the school. He ripped open the plastic bag, got the apron out, put the cardboard insert in the recycling, where's the folder? The (now ripped) plastic bag and the cardboard insert were the CDT folder...
