Blog2020 ≫ Very strange prize day

We had a last minute reprieve regarding prize day and a leavers ceremony for thing one. Because of restrictions and no-one allowed in the school we thought there would be nothing, but then they agreed to do something in the playground, then they said they'd video it, then the parents arranged the idea of us all watching from outside the school. It was really good in the end. Our boy one three prizes, the maths prize, the english prize, and one for attendence - he's one of only three who've done over 99 point something attendance over his whole time in school. The maths prize is the one we've had our eye on since about year two, so glad he got that.

Before that I cleaned and tidied and then went for a run. A quite good run, under twenty-three minutes, round Sandgate and back again. Then I did the shopping too, collecting anyway.

The good weather keeps getting pushed back, was overcast though with a high of 18° today. The forecast for Saturday has been slipping but I hope it will be good. I want it to be sunny and beachy and people about when some of the chaps visit this weekend.

Plans for tomorrow are a trip to Ashford first thing to get Clare a birthday present, maybe lunch there. Then back hopefully for a pub afternoon, heading in to Hythe. The Inn Doors is open again but I might save it for Saturday.
