I ordered some beer for delivery from Folkestone Beer Shop! But I didn't spot they only actually deliver on Wednesdays and Fridays, gah. I have enough cider in to see me through the evening.
I have the afternoon to myself, as Clare is at work and the boys are round at Grandpa's for the first time in three months. Not socially distancing but Clare is convinced it is OK and kids are not transferring coronavirus to adults. He's been in absolute isolation I think so unlikely to pass anything back to us. I'm not doing much with the time off. I went up to Homebase, but there was a big queue to get in and I didn't really need anything, so came back. I could have found something DIYish to buy I'm sure. I need some masking tape, or rather I am using not having masking tape as an excuse not to do any more painting, so I could have got that. But I did not.
A high of only 13° and very windy today too, so I don't even fancy going for a walk or a run. I did 27,000 steps yesterday and will have done almost zero today. Maybe I will walk to the Inn Doors for a couple of pints of their takeout... Yesterday as well as my trip to Morrisons I walked back to Folkestone in the evening to meet some friends from work. A sort of leaving do for one, just to say goodbye. However it turned out he's not even officially leaving, just leaving the UK to go back to Portugal. In theory he's still working for the same company, from there. But as he's furloughed like me there's not much actual work going on. I was the only one who took a beer along to this leaving do, my takeout from the Inn Doors. As it was in my big insulated cup everyone thought it was a giant cup of tea. It's fine having a boozy drink that is sort of disguised like this isn't it? We chatted for over an hour in the end, though had to move actually into the bandstand to shelter from the rain for a bit. There was an excellent double rainbow, though you can only see the one in the picture below. Also the view changed hugely at various points while we were there, You could initially see France more clearly than I've ever noticed it before, then the rain came obscuring things.
Sure this chart is a bit behind as I think we're over 40,000 deaths now in the UK. I'm sure the government plan is going well though.
