Blog โ‰ซ 2020 โ‰ซ Walked to a different pub!

Instead of beer from the Inn Doors today, or a delivery from the Firkin Alehouse I heard that the Potting Shed was open for takeaways today, so walked there. I have two pints of best bitter to enjoy later.

No running today, taking a rest day, though Clare has run, done pump class, and walked to The Range to get some paper and things for the boys.

Last night we had a Saturday treat of pizza from Luben, which I went to collect again. Was nice again, and I remembered to put it in the oven again when I got back to make sure it is hot. It goes cold so quickly otherwise. Doesn't all takeaway pizza do this? We never really have it, apart from these two times during this lockdown.

This Dominic Cummings business is shocking but entertaining to watch. I can't help feeling he'll get away with it. How can it be one rule for the people but not for him? Interesting to see the tories all come out in force to protect this character, all the big names posted similar messages that they were likely directed to with all the emotive buzzwords in about taking care for your wife and child and that being the most important thing. It seems likely to me he did not have coronavirus, his wife did not, and it's just arrogance that he should do what he likes while directing the rest of the country to stay away from their family. It is somehow shocking and not surprising at the same time. Vote tory, get tory.

I have opened up the Popbitch board today so you not longer have to pay to play. I never liked this plan anyway so glad it's changed. Will see if it's too late though.

Popex still no more popular. Also I offered a big bag of comics today on the neighbourhood whatsapp, the boys cleared out some of their Beano and Week Junior. No-one is interested though. I am more offended about that than I am about the lack of take up of popex, though it's probably just that there are not many other kids of the right age on our street. The comics are sitting at the end of our front path. I will wait until it's dark before I go get them back in, and I'll post on the neighbourhood group that they have been taken. It's too humiliating otherwise.

I never would have given away any comics, in fact I still never have. But mine are all mouldering away in boxes in the loft and have no value, so I guess they're doing the right thing. They will end up in the recycling...
