Blog โ‰ซ 2020 โ‰ซ PopEx is ALIVE!

I think it's time to put popex live. So it's OK to sign up, I think it is stable. I'm going to put it out there on the twitter today too, though if my little poll yesterday is anything to go by there is not actually going to be a lot of interest in it. If I feel it's costing me money and no-one is playing I'll quietly shut it down again. Anyway, you should sign up here and let me know how you get in. Is it too confusing?

Another cracking day out there, a high of 22ยฐ. I went for a run at 7am or so and it was lovely out. My feet are hurting a little, it might be time to get some new running shoes. I'm starting to feel the buzz again though, like in January and before, I'm looking forward to a quick recovery and then another run. The paths were quite busy and there were even people on the beach at this time. I think they'd been there fishing all night. Saw no human swimmers, but one dog. Also saw what I'm calling an "urban paddle boarder" - a lady on a longboard with a long pole punting herself along Princes Parade. Did Joe Wicks when I got back, I'm knackered now. Clare is not working this morning so she is supervising the boys school work. She's back in this afternoon though only from home. They're opening the White Cliffs to cars and things today so it should be a super busy day. It's been busy all week, though with visitors not able to park they've been leaving their cars dangerously on the road.

I finished that book and started another! I have a few lined up but picked a short and light one next. I have quite an intimidating tome to read, from an author I love, but I want to tick off another title first. The one I have lined up should be awesome, they've all been awesome so far, but it's an offputting length.

Author Book Thoughts
Ian Rankin Westwind1 Dated thriller, shame.
Ian Rankin Doors Open1 Really good crime caper in Edinburgh but with no Rebus.
Suzanne Collins The Hunger Games1 Borrowed from the children, very good.
Suzanne Collins Catching Fire1 Hunger Games part 2, read this even quicker, a bit darker.
Suzanne Collins Mockingjay1 Hunger Games part 3, joyless and grim.
Karen McManus One Of Us Is Lying2 Another one liberated from the children's bookshelf. A Breakfast Club whodunnit, dying to be a film, not at all suitable for a ten year old...
Robin Paige Death at Glamis Castle3 Edwardian era mystery written by Americans. I read one of these before.

I'm seeing a lot more people out and about, if this herd immunity gamble doesn't pay off I'm expecting a spike in cases and deaths about now.
