Blog2020 ≫ I got popex into production

I did get popex into production! It was as I thought, conflicting dependencies. I was using one piece of code for serving static assets (images and things) and it had a dependency on something that was curiously writing its own log file. I should put in a pull request to that code, but instead I ditched it for something that does not. So now popex is LIVE! I'm not sharing the link widely yet though I want to let it run for a while and see where I need to tweak it. I think it's looking ok though:

This morning we did Joe Wicks workout as usually, then the boys and I shouted back and forth about school work (I made them do diaries again), then I went for a run. Felt good today, almost back to the old days. Back in January, before the operations and enforced rest, I found I would head out of the house and my legs would just take over. It was like they wanted to run, and I could zone out a bit and listen to a podcast. Today I was not at all fast, but it felt more natural. I ran to Hythe along the road, and back along Princes Parade, so unfortunately I had the wind in my face. It's quite busy out and about and there are lots of people fishing on the beach now restrictions are slightly lifted. There are lots of people out walking who I think had the intention of social distancing, and are walking with a friend or relative, but they're not two metres apart.

I firmly believe the "lifted restrictions" are a step back toward the idea of herd immunity. The government want you to get this coronavirus.

This afternoon for our exercise we might drive to Folkestone! We're allowed out for unlimited exercise, and we're allowed to drive to exercise. I'd rather walk the boys to Sandgate again but they get bored of this so we might go along The Leas. The old parkrun route!
