Blog2020 ≫ I went out twice in one day

I went out and I did not get arrested! I went for exercise first - Joe Wicks and then outside too - and then I went to Wickes to pick up some paint I ordered. I half thought being able to order non-essentials online for click and collect was part of an elaborate sting operation. But no. It went quite smoothly, and now I am home safe again. Now I have got the paint, that is that job 90% done isn't it? I don't actually have to do the painting too do I? I have even done the masking too, so I'm about 95% done.

I bought a growbag yesterday when I did the big Sainsbury's shop, so I'm ready to plant my hops too. Just haven't done it yet. The shop went better than the previous shop, there was no queue to get in. Was still a couple of hours out of my day that we would not normally have to think about.

The boys just got in from a walk on the beach with Clare. I had planned to sit out on he balcony with my Ian Rankin book while they were out, but instead I seem to have frittered away the hour polishing my history quiz puzzle game. It still needs more questions, more easy questions, and a bit of a polish around the fun and usability aspects. It is not quite the new sudoku that I was hoping for.

The boys have done English and Maths homework this morning and are now doing some drawing. Thing one is decorating some rocks for us to put back on the beach or along Princes Parade somewhere. Thing two is designing a robotic arm, based on something we watched on Operation Ouch yesterday, where a boy and his dad had 3d-printed a prosthetic arm. I can see they are rushing through this though and itching to get back on their games consoles...

I do have time to sit and read for a bit now, and then will make a sausage casserole for tea. Trying to replicate the amazing one I made out of leftovers last week, but I think I will struggle to get it just the same.

51608 coronavirus cases and 5373 deaths in the UK. There are no new cases though so I suspect the latest figures are not in yet. [https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52167016](BBC warns against using the daily figures anyway), they are not being reported in a timely fashion, so we can't spot a trend yet. China says they had no new deaths today which is hopefully a good sign.
