Blog2020 ≫ Another storm, another name

Noisy storm in the night, kept me awake a bit. Some weird dream too that I can't remember. Weather all calmed down by this morning though very wet out there. Someone had lost their wheely bin down the street, and a bit more of our neighbour's gutter blew off. If I get round to it, and if I see her I'll see if she wants to go halves on a man with a big ladder. A bit of the end of our gutter came off, I'm sure it'll just pop back on but I can't reach it from the balcony. Could also clear out all the grass that is growing in there. Grass grows better up there on the roof than it does on the lawn.

Weather today a bit chilly again from 2° - 9° but no snow like colleagues have had up country.

Started thinking about World Book Day, gah it is always hard. The theme is "inspiring", so a character from a book that inspires them. I'm not sure either of them has been inspired by a book, though they read A LOT. I'm super proud of their reading, they both have champion reader certificates from school recently and thing one got a little gold badge for reading two million words, but we always find book day hard. Thing one wants to go as Dennis The Menace and thing two has some inappropriate blackface idea where he is "The Chief" from Dog Man1, though obviousy he doesn't see any harm in this.

Starting to plot a trip to London and a trip to Mum and Dad's soon.

I made approximately 1% progress in "tidying the study", I have packed the blu-ray player back and surround sound and all the trailing wires back into its box. Now we have the Sonos soundbar we don't need this, so it's coming back to you Dad to deal with! I really want to get this job done, I realise if I can shift the sideboard and desk I can put the dartboard back up there, and then get some new lights, and then I will work down there again. "Work".

One more thing I have the day off tomorrow now. Clare and I can have lunch together, we will go and play pool again like we did last Friday. Then there is a PTA cake sale at school I can help with.

Just today of work to get through and a few too many meetings.
