Blog2020 ≫ Dry-vegan-runuary day twenty-nine

Only two more days to go!

Just cold and dark this morning. Chided by Clare I got out of the house five minutes earlier and so was back five minutes earlier. She was shocked that my alarm goes off at 6:10 and I have not been starting running until 6:40, when I don't breakfast or shower or anything before I go. It's all about catchup up on news and things while sat on the toilet, and then finding the right number of layers and running accompaniments. Today I had t-shirt, long sleeve, bright yellow zip up top, hat, head touch, and bum bag with phone in it. Then 5k round Sandgate, and back for breakfast. I think I ran past one of my workmates, but as we both had head torches on it was hard to make out their face, so maybe not.

I still have not sorted a satisfactory solution for carrying my phone. When I do parkrun I don't need it, keep my weight down and just listen to what is on my watch. But for other runs in the week I want podcasts that are not on the watch yet (it is not fast to update) so I want my phone. I'm using the bum bag, but it's unneccessarily large for a short run like this. I tried the arm band but it doesn't quite fit. It doesn't fit in my shorts pocket, and I don't want to buy new kit.

The new kit I want to buy is an electric scooter! OK they're not legal to use anywhere but this is going to change really soon1.

5k: Five km, just over three miles to you.
