Blog2020 ≫ Slept for ages, woke up feeling dreadful

Hmm went to bed very early last night, Clare is still away and I was quite tired. My Garmin says I slept for over nine hours, including an hour and a half of deep sleep, but still I struggled to get up today. I snoozed until 7:20 and the boys came in while I was in the shower to say "why haven't you got us up yet???". We had loads of time, so that was fine. Maybe this is a good new plan, leave them in bed until they wake up, instead of trying to drag them out of bed?

We got breakfast and to school on time, and didn't leave too much washing up piled in the sink for Clare when she gets back...

Swimming last night was OK. Thing one was not that pleased about having to come along and not bring his tablet or anything. He was pleased to watch thing two swim though, pleased to note he has not overtaken him in terms of swimming skills yet.

I did watch the last twenty minutes or so of Dracula while I had my tea and I still have not changed my view of it, it is rubbish.

I had Linda McCartney Southern Fried Grills for tea! They're back! Sort of! They have a different name now and maybe a slightly different shape? But they seem very similar to me. I used to eat these all the time about fifteen years ago, then they just disappeared. Glad they are back.

I went to bed reading the National Geographic travel magazine that I bought for Clare when she was meant to be recuperating. It's given me a little inspiration for travel, but not much. As with all those lifestyle magazines it's more about aspiration and advertising outrageously expensive stuff. A little bit of escapism is OK though.

Ah one more thing, I weighed myself today and I have not lost an ounce since the beginning of the year. I don't have any to lose really but thought not drinking and exercising every day might have shaken off the several pounds I added over christmas. Maybe it is my enormous leg muscles that now account for most of my mass through the running every day.
