Tried the beetle out again yesterday, and it would not start again. It was not that cold or that damp so the previous excuses I had made for it no longer apply... I thought I'd take a chance on the battery instead. Bit of a struggle to get the old one out, but I went up to Halfords and got a replacement. Fitted it this morning and all is good again.
The cold in the car and the cold in the office has reminded me of heated USB gloves that I was looking for last year1. They did not seem to be an affordable thing this year but they are now1. They're undoubtedly dreadful knock off stop working instantly, but I might give them a try. It's cold in the beetle.
Or maybe these "for clod weather"2...
