Blog2019 ≫ Busy weekend of active activities

Sensible night in the Inn Doors on Friday led to a good parkrun Saturday1 only a few seconds off my best time really. After that a hectic day in Canterbury getting some christmas shopping ideas. Bought next to nothing. Lunch at Byron for the first time, as it was just thing one and me. Was not great, I do not recommend it. Food was ok, but very expensive really for just burger and chips, and also very very slow. The boy enjoyed his cherry soda drink and I did at least manage to get an interesting vegan burger.

We went there and back on the bus, was slow on the way there and we had to change busses. The way back was good. Having the bus pass we could have made more of it, I could have gone back to Folkestone or something in the evening for free, but did not.

This morning we got up early and did the junior parkrun. I volunteered for the first time, I think that counts towards some parkrun scheme. The boy did not have a great run, slowest out of the three we have done so far. Went to the new Morrisons again after, and they had doughnuts this time.

Swimming with thing two after lunch, so some good activity for him but was a bit cold to spend too long at the pool. Tried to start up the beetle after a two week break of not using it, and it was having none of it. Jump started it from the other car in the end. Then back to the Inn Doors for me late afternoon, very enjoyable. Tonight maybe the last episode of War Of The Worlds, or maybe Spiral.
