Blog2019 ≫ My own little Wreck-It Ralph broke the internet

While I was working from home yesterday afternoon, there was a clunk, a splash, and an ominous "oh no" from the other room... Thing one had knocked a drink off the arm of the chair (yes, the drink was balanced on the arm of the chair) with such precision it poured right through the router. The router had slipped into just such a spot that this was possible somehow. Internet went off immediately, but no power tripped out or anything. The router is probably fried. After drying out it would sort of power on again, but then wouldn't. I'm not sure of the state of my lightwaverf router too, it might be the end for that one.

I managed to carry on working by tethering my laptop to my phone, but that has cost me in data, as I'm on such a super cheap deal. I was not going to do that to let him play Fortnite though! It was really bad timing for the boy, having only just been allowed back on the Nintendo Switch after two days off it for bad behaviour.

It's a very lucky coincidence I'd already ordered the new 4G router that morning. That should be waiting for me when I get in, so we'll be back on the internet again. I was hoping to be able to test the two side by side, but now all my eggs are in the 4G basket.

Went to the Inn Doors last night after dinner, well I needed the walk. Still feeling too lazy to go for a run today though, I think I nearly have a cold. Hope I'm ok for parkrun in the morning. If not at least I can watch all of the rugby.

Wreck-it Ralph is a film btw1, in case I have caused confusion here.
