Blog2019 ≫ Cidertastic weekend

Parkrun went well despite the wind. I came 19th, with 22'021 and it was my 38th parkrun. Twelve more for a t-shirt! From there I drove straight to Mum and Dad's, still in my shorts. Don't think it was too bad a drive, just roadworks and speed limits. I listened to the second half of the rugby on the radio, felt like such a long game, but very good. Here's to the final! Which I will also only catch the second half of...

Lovely to see the boys again after a week away and I think they were pleased to see me too. We had spoken on video phones each day but great when they ran out to give me a hug. They had had a great week and been spoiled but also properly entertained with trips to the cinema and the Mary Rose and things.

Relaxing afternoon playing games and catching up, then off to pick up friends for the Portchester "Cider and sausage" festival. The quiz kept us going for about two minutes, then we worked our way through all the ciders. There was a vegan option with the sausages which was good! I should have had more than one, probably should have had more sausages and less cider. The end of the evening was very hazy, but it seems a good time was had by all. Great to catch up with the chaps in person again.

Sunday morning we went down to the skate park in Portchester, then a lovely roast dinner, then a rubbish drive back. Several accidents on the A3 and other general slowness.

We got the M&S ready meal deal when we got back; the boys had pizza and I had curry, and I ate too much again.

Clare came back from Dublin just as thing one was getting into bed, thing two had already dozed off and missed her.

A full week of work this week. The boys are in the new winter uniforms, and they don't quite fit them, so some shopping to do. Then next halloween - they want to trick or treat, though I am not keen. Then next stop thing two's birthday.

No swimming this week.
