Blog2019 ≫ IKEA remote controlled blinds are ready

IKEA remote blinds are out now, not good reviews so far though...

FYRTUR Block-out roller blind - wireless, battery-operated grey - IKEA IKEA - FYRTUR, Block-out roller blind, wireless, battery-operated grey, You can control your blinds wirelessly to adapt the light or create privacy depending on the activity taking place in the room. Block-out blinds blocks light from shining through and completely darkens your room.

I really want this, but am going to wait for a bit. I would like an actual close up look at them. I don't like that they are battery operated, I hope there is a mains option, otherwise I'd be replacing them too often for my liking. My original DIY automated blinds broke recently, so back to manual control for the playroom. Looks like they lasted 6 years with no hassle at all, and all for forty quid. I don't think that controller is available any more but I will have a look. The new IKEA blinds won't replace that setup, as the IKEA ones are a complete blind solution for a certain window size, and I had a motor fitted on to existing blinds, but I would like something like the IKEA solution for the upstairs rooms. They're just about cheap enough to take a chance on. However I am spending £5 on a second hand Garmin GPS watch today, so that's probably enough spending on myself for one month...
